Over the last 3 years we have stayed in the house while rebuilding it, this was fine while we did minor work (replacing windows, installing new sewage pipework).<\/p>\n

But now we are ready to start removing the ceilings and floors so we can move to phase 2 of rebuilding the house.<\/p>\n

So we looked at the option of buying a wooden hut to install in the garden, we had a 6x4m base from the old barn we could use.<\/p>\n

A basic wooden hut would have cost about over 15K euros, \u00a0it would have needed insulating and time to build it.<\/p>\n

Around the same time Debbie found a house for sale 5 minutes down the road, we had a look at it and made an offer. It was accepted, with taxes and Immobilien fees we paid 10K euros for a house that had an oil-fired heating system.<\/p>\n

This second house also needs extensive renovation and can be converted into 2 appartments but in its current state we can live in it while we are there.<\/p>\n

We spent the winter months painting, installing a new kitchen and some insulation work.<\/p>\n

Now we have a clean, warm\u00a0house to go back to after a hard days work at the main house.<\/p>\n
